What Else Should You Know?

Nicotine and caffeine cause vasoconstriction (narrowing of the blood vessels). This reduces blood flow to the tissues, and interferes with the growth of new blood vessels, They thus work against HBOT. It is STRONGLY recommended that you stop all nicotine and caffeine use before starting HBOT. If you do not, you will not receive the full benefit, your treatment may take longer or worse still, not work at all.

Exercise of any nature and flying post a HBOT session must be postponed for 7 – 12 hours. This is to prevent negating the benefits of the session and giving yourself the “bends”. Essentially it is the same protocol that divers follow after a dive.
